As a long time fan of DKC, I have to say that I was disappointed with this entry. There is a 2-board and 4-board version of DK, so the rom locations are different.

Getting this puzzle piece in Irate Eight is not challenging at all.

(Ironically, I too am soon moving - albeit much closer to the city where my Atari collection has resided for the past 23+ years!)

I recently found a super awesome blog that's been scanning old video game manga: abusuzuki is the guy's handle and this is the motherload I've always been searching for! It mostly covers Mario and Rockman but there's plenty of Yoshi to go along with Mario, a few Sonic ones and most importantly a ton of DK. And also you have to UNLOCK the damn thing.

The shadowy stage will be a lot of fun especially if you are aiming to collect all the puzzle pieces.

The Donkey Kong arcade game you unlock in DK64 for the N64 is probably one of the closest ports you're going to find.
