I get why there would be chinese weapons in D.C., with the commando ghouls and whatnot, but the AK-112 seemed to be an american weapon and it was just being replaced at the time of the war so it shouldn't be much rarer than the new G3-type weapon right? So, what I don't get is why there aren't any AK-112's to be found. The 112 and the 93 doesn't look that similar either, the 93 is the one that resembles an AK-47 the most, but it also look very different. I think that sometime in the 20th/21st century, USA and China both produced AK weapons and there was a split in designs which for USA lead to the AK-112, and in China, the Type-93. Why else would the weapon of their biggest enemy, who they are actively fighting in Alaska at the time, be in such a great number in such a minor location that is the capital? It's not all over the USA. must be that the chinese smuggled in weapons and personnel for some attack from within. Other than that, the other weapons similar to an AK-47 is the Chinese Assault Rifle in F3, and the reason why you can find alot of those in D.C. Now, there's only AK-47's in Fallout Tactics, and though the game is semi-canon, I don't count many of the real-life weapons as canon in the Fallout universe.

In Fallout 1 and 2, there's the much later model AK-112, and in those games it says that this weapon is outdated by the time of war and was being phased out (probably to those G3-like weapons in F3) In 2077, wouldn't a weapon from 1947 be pretty rare B)
